Reason Behind Namaste:
Namaste the traditional Indian greeting a gesture which
marks respect reverence and love for the person we greet, so why do we greet
people in this way in yoga this gesture is called Angali mudra.
It is well known fact
that the tips of figure represents a major energy points, when we bring
together the palms of our finger linking the tips of our figures ,then the
nerve circuits of the brain are linked to those of the upper body. A feeling of
calmness and well being immediately descends, also in yoga each figure is
representative of certain energy.
The little figure
represents Tamas or dullness,
ring figure represents Rajas or activity,
middle figure represents satwa
or refining,
index fingure represents individual soul or jeevatma,
thumb figure represents paramathma or
ultimate soul.
